Guardian Homes
Currently, we are seeking guardian homes for a red, female, 15-20 pound Goldendoodle and a 30-35 pound apricot/creme female Goldendoodle. We limit the number of dogs in our program because it is essential to us that we do not have too many litters of puppies at the same time. We work hard to ensure that each litter of our puppies receives the proper amount of attention and early socialization necessary to become excellent pets. Please email me a little about your family and your dog experience if you are interested in this opportunity and meet all the guardian home criteria below. My email is thepuppyfam@gmail.com.
Guardian ownership with The Puppy Family is an excellent option for someone who travels frequently, is interested in acquiring a dog with excellent genetic health, but isn’t excited about the significant price tag that comes with it.
We are very selective in who we trust with our dogs. You need to be prepared to make a lifetime commitment to love and care for our dog. Please read through this information carefully and thoughtfully if you are considering guardian ownership as an option. Working together, we can help provide an ideal living situation for both you and your dog!
If you are a guardian for a male dog, he would live with you full-time. When he was needed for stud services, I would get him and return him when the job was done. You would receive a bonus for each dog he is bred to. You would receive 10% of the stud fee, up to $100. This includes 1-2 ties or inseminations.
If you are a home for a female, she would live with you full-time. She would come live with me when she was in heat and from the time she whelps the puppies to when her puppies are weaned. You would receive 10% of the profits from each of her litters, up to $ 2,000 per litter. We breed our animals three to four times in total, and only breed them when they are healthy and have fully recovered from their last litter. Once the dog has had puppies, the guardian home would be responsible for spaying her and would then assume full ownership of the dog.
What are the perks of being a guardian home with The Puppy Family?
-
You would get an expensive, well-bred dog for free.
-
If your dog is female, you would have access to free dog boarding. I like to stay in my dogs’ lives, and more importantly, I want them to feel comfortable around my dogs and me. I would encourage you to consider having your dog stay at my house whenever you go on vacation, until they are spayed. I do not watch my male dogs because of all the intact females that are at my house.
-
Regular veterinary care and grooming of dogs can be expensive. A guardian dog would pay for itself and then some.
To be a guardian for The Puppy Family, you must meet the following criteria:
-
You must live in Utah.
-
You must have a fully fenced yard.
-
The dog must live in your home. No outdoor dogs allowed.
-
You must be able to provide for the dog’s regular veterinary care and grooming needs.
-
You must be willing to communicate regularly with me about the dog’s well-being and needs.
-
You cannot take your dog to dog parks. The risk of Parvo exposure for our puppies is too high.
-
You must be excited to love your dog and welcome them as part of your family!
